Put In a Good Week

Training continues to go well, now that I’ve worked through that ITB injury. I ran 9.5 yesterday at a good but comfortable pace. I ran in the new Innov8s I just picked and they seem like great shoes. The fit is nice and tight around my heel and mid-foot, but they still give my toes plenty of room. They are very flexible and have a nice feel, being light but responsive instead of dead. I worry about traction in even damp weather, however, since the sole is slick and has no real tread.

Today started out as a lazy day. I was feeling a bit tired from yesterday’s run and my back was sore from some yard work, so I figured I’d stay away from the gap and cut it short. After about an hour I really started to feel good, so extended the loop to include Baby Gap and added about 15 miles. Overall, about 55 miles.
